Wrexham vs Birmingham City - Will Finnie

       First time watching Mr Finnie.
I thought he did well. There were stages of the game where he
seemed to lose it. I don't think he was assisted that well by
his colleague on the dugout main stand (Wrexham Lager end).
There was one occasion - that he waved away a penalty
appeal....but wasn't even looking at the two players coming
together. This is something that has happened quite a bit this
season. Mr Swabey seems to be an expert in it.
Possibly, Brum could have had a penalty in the first half but I
am not sure that he was in the best position.
However, fitness was excellent. Man management was good and
seems to command the respect of the players - perhaps best
exemplified by all involved in the hand shakes at the end of the
       game.
I think he is definitely a contender for a Premier League game
towards the end of the season.
Probably, one of the best at the Cae Ras this season

If he has, at times seem to lose control of a League One game,
how does this make him a contender for a Premier league game ?
I didn’t watch the game myself, but have seen Mr Finnie several
times this season - appears competent, shows empathy and doesn’t
want to be the star of the show - not sure he is anywhere near
ready for the Premier League though

Usual moan, could the game please be included with the 'subject'
at the head of the post, then at least we know which game we are
talking about. Moan over, thank you.

I personally thought finnie was very poor last week, at times
the game seemed far too big for him. He is no where near PL
       level yet ….

It would be interesting to know why you thought Finnie was 'very
poor', particularly in the light of comments made above. Have
you examples from the match? As for 'far too big for him', I'm
sure I've heard this before about other referees. Or maybe I'm
mistaken. Examples would be helpful. This was not a PL game and
Will is not an SG1 referee (yet), with all the support available
to them. I saw Will in his very early days at Gresty Road and I
could see potential even then. I stand by this view now.

As I've said before, as soon as I see the words game was too big
for him I immediately discard the comment. Not saying it is
necessarily the case here, but it is almost always used by fans
when referees have made decisions against their teams.
