I think the point bruntyboy was making was that if Lambrechts
was consistent, he should also have penalised the push on
Maguire.
Non-intervention by VAR in both cases is understood as neither
could be classed as a clear and obvious error.

It isn't that straight forward though, things can look very
different based on distance, angle, players between referee and
offence, etc.
The simple answer is for players to not push opponents. Once
you put your hands on them you risk them exaggerating the
contact and the referee penalising it, don't touch them and you
are very unlikely to give a foul away.
