Sam Allison - Derby vs Sunderland

Anyone watching the Sunderland game care to explain the
inexplicable decision to disallow Isidor's strike?
Clearly not offside. Innocuous collision with the defender (more
instigated by the defender I would say). Goal awarded, Derby
defender races towards Sam Allison. 1 minute later, goal
disallowed.
For me, an extremely poor piece of officiating.

Extremely poor must be the understatement of the century

i thought Sam Allison was meant to be one of the better SG2
referees.

Don't shoot me but I am only responding here after seeing a
comment on the BBC HAVE YOUR SAY below the match report.
Did the fourth official .......in this case Gavin
Ward.......get involved and drew Sam Allison's attention and
then a significant period of time elapsed before the goal was
disallowed ?

Can only assume they have come to the conclusion of a foul on
the defending player, but I'm not seeing it.

The linesman flagged for offside well after the celebrations
after both him and the referee walked away, it wasn’t given for
any foul.
That was seen in the stadium but doesn’t sound it was on camera
Would be interesting to hear the mic’d up for it

As poor a decision
If you take a step back and read post above yours, Joecphillips
stated that the Assistant flagged offside well after the
celebration. No Referee, even from level 4 and above would
ignore their Assistants flag for an offside. Not taking up the
advice of your Assistants would be the beginning of the end for
your reputation.

I was sat directly behind the assistant referee- Hristo
Karaovanov, and he gave no indication on awarding anything…
until somewhat bizarrely eventually put the flag up for offside
- but the decision never came from him, Sam himself never even
went over to speak to him … my assumption therefore is that 4th
official Gavin Ward came to some conclusion… not often Derby
benefit from decisions just a shame we didn’t capitalise on it

A competent referee would speak with his assistant, assess and
evaluate all of the relevant information and then make a
decision based upon this - you have an obligation as a referee,
at any level, to ensure a decision is accurate and correct and
not just blindly accept a very, very late offside flag
Let’s not try and defend the indefensible here - it appears from
the footage and from what the fella at the game said, to be a
horrendous decision - fortunately it hasn’t impacted on the
result
