Yes, but if he was not going any further up the ladder, that is
to be an EFL referee, then 42 was the age he would have come off
the contributory system (NPL and EFL) in those days. Good to
hear that Keith may still be around and living in Kendal, and I
wonder whether anybody reading this thread in Cumbria may still
be in touch with him.

I can confirm Keith is very much alive and kicking and living in
Kendal. We often bump into each other when walking our dogs.
Fairly recently widowed, he spent many years involved in
administration in local football, as well as serving on the
committee of the local Netherfield Cricket Club where he often
does a stewards duty behind the bar. Although he is not Irish he
generally greets you with the words “And the top of the morning
to you”. Lovely guy.
