Appointments made yesterday
HTML https://www.epcrugby.com/european-professional-club-rugby/match-officials
Just some comments from the Champions Cup:
Davidson gets the match to determine who gets the Challenge Cup
RO16 spot.
Amashukeli gets another top clash back with his Georgian
assistants.
Brousett gets a very important game too.
Woodthorpe also gets a tasty game to determine the final
qualifying spot in pool 2.
Whitehouse gets rewarded with a second game in the competition.
Decent appointments all round tbh with something generally
required for all teams.
In the Challenge Cup
Nice to see a few debuts and a name I'm completely unaware of
with the Frenchman who gets a decent clash!
The South African duo get plum appointments too.

As I am going to Belfast on Friday I shall look forward to
seeing Hollie referee - will be interesting as to the strength
of the respective sides - do you try and win, get on a "roll"
and extend European season or do you rest a few, giving some of
the squad good experience?

She did ok
Won't be her most taxing match, neither side is known for making
it difficult add in the inexperience on both sides, especially
Exeter and the officials took on more of a guidance role rather
than punitive
She was helped out a couple of times from AR or TMO but these
were small and inconsequential
She has a great rapport with players, manages well with a smile
and contributed to a match which neither defence coach will
enjoy watching
The game itself was typical Exeter of this year: start well, let
them back in, work really hard to get parity and then fall apart
(at least Ulster have a sniff of qualifying due to number of
points we conceded). At least we got to 4 tries!
Lovely stadium, very good atmosphere

Ramos very poor in the aviva.
I know he is being pushed since raynal retired along with
Brousset but they are too inconsistent imo

Looks like Tual Trainini is now being used just as a specialist
TMO. Does anyone know why? Injury? Choice? Pressures of work
outside rugby?
It’s sad if this is the case as I have always rated him very
highly and he has featured very prominently in Top14 in recent
years, inc back to back finals. I was looking at a French
website a couple of years ago in which posters were very
complimentary in their praise of Trainini, many lauding him as
the outstanding Top14 ref and touting him as the natural
successor to the likes of Garces, Raynal etc.

Unfortunately it seems it's more about if the face fits!
Much like Maxwell Keys, extremely competent official that just
isn't highly thought of by World Rugby.
Brousett, Ramos and now Rozier, Cayre & Balley are ahead of him
in the pecking order.
Jerome Garces was a fan, it seems Joel & Co are not.
