Regarding Scott Ledger, I was looking at the list of officials
who have done the FA Cup final and his name didn't seem to be on
there - has his face not always 'fitted' for whatever reason?
I Agree with the comments regarding Darren Cann and also
regarding Scott who has been very consistent over a number of
seasons. I beleive a glaring ommission when previous
contributors are nominating the best assistants has to be Adrian
Holmes. He has made some very brave tight calls and his accuracy
percentage is extremely high. He has also shown he is prepared
to assist when it comes to other incidents besides off sides. He
has had some critisism from pundits on occassions for being
"only just right" but we all know how stupid some of them are.
For me he is way better than some of our other asstistants
including FIFA badge holders over the last couple of seasons.
Interesting that the powers that be put out Holmes and Ledger
with Paul Teirney on Saturday following the Manchester City
Watford game, obviously they thought he would be well looked
after !!
To be fair, Tierney was looked after perfectly well by his
assistant in the Man City V Watford game - he just chose to
overrule!

That was my point, same assistant that tried his best to keep
him [ the ref] out of trouble in his previous game.

Does anyone have any views on likely names to be promoted to the
SG1 assistant list from Sg2 in the near future.

Running him close for the "best lino" award would certainly have
been Gavin Ward, had he not decided to become a very average
referee instead.

I've not seen Simon Beck appointed to a game for a while but he
is still on the list for this season?
I'm surprised Andrew Garratt has continued this season
considering it was announced in summer 2018 that he was
retiring!
Three offside decisions have been overturned by VAR so far this
season.

I’m surprised that Kirkup and Garratt have continued this season
I’d be surprised if they carried on after this season

It was Darren Cann on the f irst weekend.
I'm not sure if it was Beswick or Nunn at Brighton V West Ham
and Scholes or Perry at Sheffield United V Southampton on
Saturday.

I've no issue with their performance but certainly in the case
of Garratt it was announced that he was retiring and then he not
only did last season but this as well!
