Very surprised Chilowicz didn’t send Bankes to the monitor for
the handball against Ait-Nouri.
Lesser handball offences have been given as spot kicks for that.

Initially thought penalty in real time but from the replay, I
think the arm is just close enough to the body to be deemed a
natural position

The co-commentator said the reason was due to the distance the
ball travelled and the speed of the ball.

In the good old days it used to be the interpretation of the
referee as to what was handball and you didnt know from one week
to the next what the decision would be.
The authorities decided to make things easier by issuing
guidance on what is handball and the pgmol decided to differ
from the interpretation of uefa and guess what we are no wiser
than we were in the gold old days.

Sadly, they will tamper with TLOG and their interpretation more
and more just to add to the confusion.
The game, as a game, is becoming a joke at the top level,
however, the entertainment derived from the VAR fiasco takes a
lot of beating. It isn't for me and the non-league game attracts
me mre and more.

Just to explain myself a bit more, I don’t necessarily agree
with the reason given during the game although it may be a small
factor. If ‘distance travelled and speed of the ball’ were key
factors then we’d all agree that the De Ligt handball wouldn’t
be sanctioned because of how close he was and the speed the ball
was travelling.
I just cannot see how Ait Nouri’s (I think) arm can be seen as
an unnatural position - the arm is not pointing outwards, just
down by his side. Yes his arm is not touching his body but the
gap between the arm and the body is small enough to be
considered natural position. It also hit him nearer to the
shoulder which maybe adds more doubt.
Also, there’s no way that VAR could intervene with that in my
opinion with the high bar that it constantly sets
