Ipswich v Chelsea - John Brooks

A penalty has just been given and I can’t work out what for.
Delap goes in for a challenge with the keeper, then gets up and
throws himself over with no contact.
Multiple replays confirm no contact, VAR sticks with the
       decusion

I haven’t seen the incident so I may come across a bit biased
but whenever a goalkeeper goes in for a challenge with the
attacker on 1v1 it’s always been given a penalty and it always
will be given a penalty in Stockley Park, no matter the amount
       of contact

Now I’ve just watched that about 20 times and I agree I don’t
see any significant contact. There may be the slightest of
contacts on the trailing foot but not really significant.
Probably shouldn’t be backed up by Oliver on VAR.

There was a tiny touch but if that was enough for a foul then
there will be a lot more penalties given

Looks like it got really scruffy near the end with a lot of
yellows for dissent I think. Can’t comment on the whole
       performance but anyway…
What a win for us!! 😁

I thought Ipswich were superb, and actually the manner in which
the game was handled by Brooks aided that - Delap was allowed to
be the battering ram, and he kept his cards in his pocket early
on somewhat surprisingly (Hutchinson on Cucurella in
particular). Could see the Chelsea players getting frustrated
that they felt they were getting kicked / bullied with no
protection from Brooks, and this boiled over into dissent later
       on.

Here's another angle that shows no contact. Delap stubs his foot
into the turf and then uses that as the excuse for a dive.
I can't believe VAR backed up the decision when there is
categorical proof of no contact being made.

The only thing surprising about that incident was that he didn't
caution Cucurella for his pathetic play-acting. Chelsea are a
particularly graceless side (even if they were a little hard
       done by with the penalty).
