Robert Jones continues to be a bad omen when appointed to our
games! At least it wasn’t orange as feared!😜
Not seen the full match, but reports suggests a pretty feisty
affair.
I have seen the brief highlights and I really do think Christie
should have walked for his studs up challenge on Robinson.
Why Bankes in VAR didn’t come in and recommend a review was very
perplexing.

Wore blue to keep both Missy bmb and TTFL happy! That is no mean
feat it has to be said!!
First and foremost what a cracking game of football. 2 on form
teams just getting on and playing ball and thoroughly enjoying
themselves out there. No-one can say we were not entertained.
Special mention for Wilson's goal - an absolute beauty

As to team ref - I thought they enhanced the game with a decent
performance. Hill with a goal disallowed for a shirt pull by
Semenyo, can't complain about that too much. The only perhaps
contentious decision was the yellow card for Ryan Christie. Was
an orange for me and you could easily accept either red or
yellow, VAR was never going to overrule the ref's call. It was
quite high and I do feel he led with his studs but also feel a
yellow was the correct call in the context of the game. Fulham
fans may disagree and I would understand that, element of luck
in our favour for once.
I think a draw was the right result, neither team deserved to
lose. They'll have a hard time whittling down the highlights,
there were plenty of them from both teams. Roll on the 2nd half
of the season.

Concur with everything said so far. I was there, and enjoyed a
thoroughly decent game of football, in which Rob Jones did very
well IMHO.
I’ve not had a chance to see a replay of the tackle yet, but
thought red as it happened. It looked high, but Rob Jones was a
lot closer than me and happy to go with his decision.
From a football perspective, don’t think either set of fans
could complain at the result, Bournemouth bossed the first half,
Fulham bossed the second.
Excellent from Rob, no complaints at all 👍🏼

Only just caught up with highlights. What did people think of
the late BOU equaliser? Seemed like a blatant foul in the build
up (and should probably actually be a YC for reckless challenge)
- defender pokes the ball away and the BOU player gets there
second with studs on ankle. Commentator says VAR mentions more
non-LOAF nonsense about ‘momentum’??! Almost every foul is a
player getting the ball just ahead of another player and being
caught by an opponent who gets there second - by that
definition, 90% of FKs aren’t fouls. The danger with VAR being
heard by commentators is surely that some of this nonsense is
being heard and will then be thrown back at referees over other
decisions.

I certainly think it’s a blatant foul. Don’t necessarily blame
Jones for missing it, but definitely something VAR should pick
up. I haven’t mentioned it as I have a dog in the fight and
could be accused of a Fulham bias, but looks an obvious error to
me.

Personally I think it's swings and roundabouts - having watched
Hill's disallowed goal back I don't think that was a foul and
the goal should have stood so 1 goal wrongly disallowed and 1
wrongly allowed.

VAR review: While Christie was off the ground, he led with one
foot and made only small contact with Robinson's shin.
The fact that Christie's foot came off the ball first is
irrelevant; it's how he connects with the opponent (as usual,
see Liverpool's Curtis Jones at Tottenham Hotspur last season.)
If there had been any more contact, then it would have been a
VAR intervention.
There are similarities to Moisés Caicedo's challenge on Pape
Matar Sarr in Chelsea vs. Tottenham, which also didn't lead to a
VAR review at the pitchside monitor -- an outcome supported by
Howard Webb and the KMI Panel.
Verdict: This is right on the borderline between yellow and red,
unlike the challenge by Brighton's Pervis Estupiñán on Max
Kilman before Christmas which should have resulted in a VAR
intervention.
The KMI Panel may log this as a red card on the field, but it's
not at the threshold for VAR.
