He was excellent at Ashton gate so don’t quite see your point
tbh

My point was never about Mr Robinson's ability or standing as a
referee. I'm merely pointing out 50% of his appointments in the
Championship this season are now Argyle v Bristol City as he's
doing both games

Sam Allison’s Hillsbrougn performance, particularly inside the
penalty area suggests he could be having a spell with a big coat
on!

Stoke City FC (First Team) v Leeds United AFC (First Team)
Live on SkySports
Football League Championship
Referee: Martin, Stephen
Assistant Referee: Dwyer, Mark
Assistant Referee: Fitch-Jackson, Carl
Fourth Official: Woods, Martin
Because of the fog, it was impossible to say on the TV
highlights who was refereeing this game. However ther was no
doubt that it was the referee becauae he was wearing ... a very
luminous yellow. Quite weird as this beacon of light flitted
round the pitch amidst the gloom. No question of binning yellow
imho when games are played in these conditions.

I didn’t even need to check who was officiating this game on the
highlights given Macho Man’s unique running style! 😜

Yes a Championship debut for James Durkin, I believe he had a
few league two trial games last season but this season is his
first as an official EFL Referee.
No easy introduction to Championship football for him, he sent
off Cardiff’s Callum Robinson soon into the second half. I was
at the game and the red card seemed to be a surprise to lots in
the crowd and also the players. Robinson’s arm made clear
contact to the face of the Coventry player during a
challenge/coming together but in my opinion it lacked the
necessary intent and aggression for a red card/violent conduct.
I think most referee’s would have given a yellow in this
instance.
Kevin Friend (SG2 manager) was also at the match and came down
to the touch line to speak to Geoff Eltringham following his
injury and oversaw the change of referee process etc.
Welsh League referee Dale Randall came out of the crowd to
replace James Durkin as Fourth Official. Dale referee’s in the
league below the Welsh Premier and has taken charge of Welsh Cup
matches in recent season’s.

Could Friend have taken over as fourth official if there was no
one else?
