Regarding the Dias challenge on Hojlund:
"The Premier League have released a statement explaining why the
decision was given. The referee's call of no penalty for the
challenge between Højlund and Dias was checked and confirmed by
VAR, deeming it was normal contact".
To me, these statements are simply stating what the VAR thought.
Could Webb, PGMOL, take a different view? We know the Panel can.
On RefWatch, Stephen Warnock appeared incredulous that Dermott
didn't think it was a penalty, and Sue Smith agreed. Have to
say that having watched it again at full speed and slo-mo, I'm
with Warnock and Smith on this.
The pundits did however think that Hojlund was fortunate to get
away with his holding of Haaland, believing the latter was
trying to free himself rather than it being 6 of 1 and half a
dozen of the other. Considering Hojlund wasn't even looking at
the ball, I'm inclined to agree.
Good to hear the pundits affirm how embarrassing Walker's
play-acting was in the confrontation with Hojlund.
I'm not sure whether Taylor had a decent view of the no-penalty
decision but he had a good game, and my impression is that with
all his experience, he now has the respect of players, perhaps
more so than was apparent a few years ago.

Taylor misses a penalty in this match, fails to sanction an
elbow to the head in his last match. If this had been a less
experienced referee would we have been so charitable? The
unwritten guidance that referees appear to be following is
       producing a confusing game imho!
