A TAYLOR - Man C v Man U

This has been one of the most placid of derby games I’ve seen in
many a year.
Both sides have hardly made a strong challenge and for Taylor,
it’s probably one of the easiest games he’s had to officiate in
many a year!

I spoke too soon….. 😂
Deserved yellows for Hojlund and Walker for a rubbing of heads
together… surprised no other sanctions for some of the other
players who carried on the handbags.

Not quite as easy as Madley's derby from last year where he
didn't give a free kick for 25 minutes!

I agree a fairly comfortable half. One concern is how Hoyland is
allowed to get away with the ridiculous holding of Harland at
corners. The ref had a clear view. He is facing away from the
ball 100% pen. I know it goes on a lot. I would love to see a
ref to have the courage to punish that foul and then maybe they
will stop doing it

Don’t like the fact Mike dean is saying it’s not a pen”in a game
like this”.a fouls a foul?

I'm not sure how that wasn't a penalty, if it happens anywhere
else on the pitch there's no discussion if it's a foul or not

Tbf Taylor was excellent apart from the missed penalty(and
that’s more on atwell)

Another very good performance from a referee who I believe to be
in very good form at the moment. Most flashpoints handled very
well. Would’ve been easy to send off Hojlund if he believed he
saw him move his head towards Walker but a sanction for both was
correct (but that was some seriously bad cheating from Walker.
Needs to be stamped out of the game even though it never will).
I’ll admit in real time I didn’t think Man U’s first penalty
appeal was a penalty. It didn’t look like much contact (with
consequence). With this seasons high bar, I wouldn’t expect VAR
to overturn but you can definitely see some arguments for a
penalty. Probably one of those ‘refs call’ again.
The penalty given in the 86th minute, absolutely stonewall. No
questions needed.
But in general foul detection was pretty good and all cautions
were correct. Another very very good performance from him

I have to agree with previous posters excellent from Taylor but
not the hardest match to referee but can only do what is in
front of him - seems to save his best for the big games and
struggles with penalty appeals in lesser games
