       ---------------------------------------------------------
Tranmere Rovers FC (First Team) v Harrogate Town FC (First Team)

       Referee: Reeves, Tom
       Assistant Referee: Gray, Alex
       Assistant Referee: Topp, Jake
       Fourth Official: Oldham, James
I've been impressed when seeing Mr Reeves in action previously,
but less so today unfortunately. He seemed to blow up for
relatively little contact; 25 fouls in a game which wasn't that
feisty and seemed to be inconsistent about enforcing where
free-kicks and throw-ins were taken. More than once he'd make a
big thing about where a throw-in should be taken backed up by
pointing, but when the taker advanced significantly, no action
taken by the referee. When a Harrogate player failed to retreat
for a free-kick over half a minute after the award, the kick was
taken and blocked by the defending player, but Mr Reeves only
ordered a re-take. While a YC could have been justified, not to
have a proper word with the offending player seemed remiss,
especially as the referee didn't reflect it in the time added
       on.
       It was also the game of three unawarded potential penalties;
Harrogate's Duke-Mckenna got away from Wood and was clipped in
the box. This was one where if VAR operated in the lower
leagues, there would certainly have been a referral, but from Mr
Reeves' position, it was hard to spot if a touch on the ball by
the defender had happened. Can't recall where the AR was placed
at the time to be in a position to offer help or not.
The middle incident was a similar to the first, but this time a
Tranmere attacker taken out. I would have to see it again, but
probably the weakest of the claims.
The last was another Tranmere attack, which had been a goalmouth
scramble and the ball eventually cleared to Merrie. As he shaped
to shoot he was taken out by a lunge from behind, much worse
than things Mr Reeves had been blowing up for in the middle of
the park and unlike the first claim, he was well-positioned to
see what happened and award the spot-kick.

Interesting that you mentioned about the added time. I’ve
noticed this season it’s back to normal again. 1 min first half
when there’s 2 goals etc… not enough. At Crewe v Bradford last
week, a lot of stoppages and Bradford time wasting led to 1 min
added first half. I completely disagreed with this. As most
predicted, all the new “rules” go out the window.

Didn’t look like Tom Nield at Bromley to me. A lot of
       controversy in that game!

We had him at Hartlepool at the start of the season. He seemed
average at best and made some dubious calls but not enough to be
       removed. Injured maybe??

It was farcical, but I can't shed much light on what happened as
I, like Darren Drysdale, had followed the ball.
There was a scuffle between the two Number 18s, which YouTube
footage just catches, but then the camera panned away. Suddenly
a bit of a shout and Tamworth's Number 4 is on the ground
       holding his head.
Drysdale stopped play and then spent around 3 minutes in
conversation with assistant William Cavanagh, before fourth
official Kavan Hurn decided to join in.
The outcome was a red card for Tamworth's 18, a yellow card for
Dale's 18 (we were expecting a red for each) and then a yellow
card for someone on Tamworth's bench.
Tamworth got the free-kick because - I think - the initial foul
was by our 18 (Aidan Barlow), but this is when their keeper
       decided he was injured!
I'd love to see any other footage of the incident, because any
conclusions about what happened are just gueswork!

This 2 mins video did not tell you much. The only advice would
be not to go straight into the technical areas as it could
       exacerbate the situation further.
It's easier to blame the Referee for players' idiotic behaviour!

I think he was called there by the fourth official.
