C KAVANAGH - Fulham v Arsenal

Bit of a mixed bag this afternoon, seemed to be inconsistent
when awarding fouls, particularly against Fulham in the first
half.
Martinelli was a lucky boy not to get a second yellow for
chucking the ball at a Fulham player in anger over the award of
a free kick, all the more risky to him after being carded for
slamming the ball down after a throw in had gone to Fulham.
Bassey carded correctly, and now he’s out of the Liverpool game.
At least it’s another game with orange being worn that we’ve not
lost… things are getting better! 😜

Agree with that overview. Unusually poor positioning by Cann for
the disallowed Arsenal goal (he’s so far ahead of play) but at
least it was corrected in the end.

I thought he was pretty poor in what was a very easy game to
referee. Gave two or three free kicks for tackles where the ball
was clearly and obviously won cleanly, yet ignored some blatant
fouls, especially pushes. Yellow cards seemed very haphazard and
inconsistent.
In no way did he have any impact on the result, but he was a
long way from perfect in what should have been a stroll for him.

Didn't see the game but based on the very unfavourable comments
about Chris Kavanagh's performance by Keith Hackett I am minded
to think Kavanagh had a very good match.

Thought Kavanagh was very good in this game, as were the
assistants apart from one extremely Uncharacteristic positioning
error by the excellent Mr Cann (we are all human and can make
mistakes).

I get the succinct impression Hackett got out of bed the wrong
side this morning and wasn’t impressed when he woke up!
I’ve only seen snippets of what he said online through various
searches, however the usual vitriol he blurts out is over the
top and unwarranted.
If he wants to stamp out all holding in the box like yesterday
then we will be having penalties awarded at each corner or set
piece around the area.
However, the Kulusevski incident in the other game, I think
should have been a red, and VAR not coming in was unfortunate.
