Darragh which is due to affect large parts of the country with
damaging winds on Saturday. The safety of fans is paramount and
the need for early and (if necessary) collective decisions on
games to prevent fans traveling cannot be emphasised enough. We
       have been warned!

My game on Saturday is on an artificial pitch. Gusts of 60mph
are forecast for 3pm. Getting the ball to remain stationary for
a re-starts may be an issue. How often/far does it have to blow
away before we abandon the game? ;)

In case anyone was wondering, the game went ahead. It was a
crosswind and both teams were firmly of the "keep the ball on
the floor" mentality leading to a good game. The ball dribbled
off its position a couple of times due to the wind but everyone
just got on with it. The game was played in a terrific spirit
and we officials had a very quiet afternoon.
