       Storm Darragh

I hope the authorities and clubs are taking note of Storm
Darragh which is due to affect large parts of the country with
damaging winds on Saturday. The safety of fans is paramount and
the need for early and (if necessary) collective decisions on
games to prevent fans traveling cannot be emphasised enough. We
       have been warned!

My game on Saturday is on an artificial pitch. Gusts of 60mph
are forecast for 3pm. Getting the ball to remain stationary for
a re-starts may be an issue. How often/far does it have to blow
away before we abandon the game? ;)

I wouldn't bank on it. Scotland had red, do not travel, warnings
2 weeks ago and the authorities didn't call off any fixtures

Was the same whichever storm it was when we played Nottingham
Forest a couple of season ago. Red warning for winds, they
refused and refused to call the game off until part of the roof
on 1 stand was torn off by 60mph winds and even then they
dithered and tried to see if we could just shut off that part of
       the stand!
They were saying on Amazon Prime Storm Darragh was already
affecting down here but not sure they were right. Has been wet
and windy today but that's normal here in the winter. Didn't
seem anything different to the normal winter weather to be
       honest!

It seems virtually every gust of wind these days has to be given
a name. I don't think we should do it; it only encourages them !

Red 'danger to life' warning now issued for the West Country &
Wales, including Plymouth, Cardiff and Bristol, but hey-ho, it's
'only a puff of wind', as my Headteacher once famously
remarked.... on 16th October 1987, the morning after The Great
       Storm.

Welsh FA have just confirmed that all their football is off
tomorrow (BBC). Not sure whether this includes the game at
Cardiff, but i.m.o, it should do.

Plymouth game sensibly postponed earlier rather than (too) late.

All football in Wales on Saturday is off, FAW blanket decision.
