Couldn’t agree more and was very good to see him book Ugarte for
waving a imaginary card , I say that as a Utd fan aswell . He’s
just let the players get on with it
Well full time - it wasn’t the hardest match to referee but he
passed this test with flying colours. He showed no nerves and
looked relaxed but focused and seemed to enjoy himself

Very good from Barrott this evening, officiated well and did
what he needed to do without fuss.
His demeanour certainly reminds me of Alan Wiley, and if he gets
to his level, then we have a real prospect on our hands.
He has passed his first big name clash in the premier league
with ease.
Interesting that VAR came in for the second goal, would have
been impossible to apportion an offside offence with all the
bodies in the way.

Didnt see all of the game but saw the majority. Looked calm and
in control and it’s good to see him get some praise from others.
A performance that will almost certainty quieten the doubters
about his ability to handle these games…

Sam Barrott hasn’t had the easiest of starts to his second
season in the top flight, but all referees go through difficult
times, and it’s how you bounce back that really counts.
He is a quality referee with youth on his side and gets about
the play very well and has a quiet authority.
There was some doubts about his ability to handle this match,
but Barrott really stepped up today and has put those
indifferent performances well and truly behind him. He can push
on from here and handle more of these “marquee” matches and
handle them with coolness and aplomb.
Pleased to hear he did well tonight.

Will happily admit to have had a slight concern about how soon
into his PL career he was handed a "marquee" match (irrespective
of United's league position!) - but Barrott was brilliant. Cool
customer, always on scene but not too close, with the touch of
the Michael Oliver's about him in his decision-making.
We will more than likely see some big-hitter appointments to
come, and he will be fully deserving of them should they come
his way.

Agree with what's been said. Couldn't have wished for an easier
game to make your debut in a higher profile PL game. Many a SG2
referee could learn from the way he didn't go looking for
trouble and was able to issue YC consistently. An impressive
performance.

Alan Shearer repeatedly commenting "The ball has gone
backwards". ::)
