It has to be drawn again as they wont come up against Villa home
or away in this round unless var intervenes😂

Whilst I am not suggesting for one minute that any jiggery
pokery goes on, I am always amazed that they put the balls into
a transparent bowl and show the balls in it while the draw is
being made. With monitors scattered around the set, these
images could be visible to the people making the draw. It is
completely unnecessary and makes it so easy for anyone to
suggest that it's fixed. Leave them in the velvet bag!

fixed are the same sort of people who constantly go on about
corruption at PGMOL on social media.

conspiracy theory. I am merely puzzled as to why the FA would
design a process that is open to question when a better
alternative is easily implemented.

I tend to agree with Ref Watcher. I suspect most of us know
normally sensible people who hold the conspiracy theory, without
having any evidence. Perhaps, instead of having so called
celebrities drawing the balls, ordinary fans could be chosen at
random after vetting instead.

Indeed - I still remember the BBC's Brian Butler whispering that
he "has had the signal from the Challenge Cup Committee" before
taking the draw live. Ted Croker was in charge of proceedings
and it was all very formal. It was made to appear as thought
the Committee had reached the relevant item on their agenda at
just the time that the radio broadcast commenced. Conspiracy
theorists suggested that this was not a coincidence, but staged
for radio effect. I believe otherwise :)

I remember it well, but, as it was on the radio where nobody
could see it, how do we know that draw wasn't open to fixing....

Your lunchtime was different to mine. It always took place
while I was still in lessons. I had a transistor radio on with
a surreptitious earpiece listening to it! :) Actually if it
was still only on the radio at that time, I suspect my son would
do exactly the same now. And he's a teacher. ;D

But do you remember when Bob Lord, the Chairman of Burnley, was
in charge of proceedings at Lancaster Gate? The conspiracy
theorists would have had a field day!
I have no problem with the balls going into a transparent
container, which has a cover to prevent the people making the
draw from seeing the balls before they pull them out. What I do
dislike is knowing what number ball my team is in advance. I
know that the teams have always been listed for the third round
in alphabetical order, PL and Championship first followed by the
others, so AFC Bounemouth No 1 and Wigan No 64 this time, which
also means that Crystal Palace in the top two divisions have
always been about 11-14, 12 this time. But I still hanker after
the element of surprise which has now disappeared from the draw.

I know as neither BBC nor ITV have live Premiership matches they
tend to focus on the more well known teams for their cup
coverage but the selections for FACR3 are boring, predictable
and really unlikely to generate shocks
I understand Arsenal v Man U is marketable ("tie of the round")
and that Millwall v Dagenham is following non league involvement
but who (other than the club supporters) wants to see Liverpool
v Accrington, Man C v Salford or Aston Villa reserves v West Ham
reserves??

Unfortunately the world markets that generate the most revenue
want to see the top clubs more often than not. These countries
aren’t going to want to watch 2 league 1 sides at 1pm on a
Sunday hence why United, Arsenal Liverpool etc. are always
televised. They bring thr most cash
