Wow! Arsenal Manchester United for Sam Barrott!
Given he's already done 2nd v 5th, why a "wow" for 4th v
mid-table ??
Just historically it's not a game you'd expect a first year SG1
(with only a year on SG2 before that) to be appointed to. Added
to which, and as others have said on here before, he's not
exactly had the most fantastic of rides in the PL to date.

I don't normally comment on appointments but I am surprised to
see Sam Barrott refereeing that game but then again, United are
a mid table team! Whilst I am here, pleased for Kavanagh and I
like the spread of appointments.

Let’s wait to see the fall out of Barrott on Ars/Man U, this
should have gone to Gillett or Oliver 100%.
I’m not happy with this appointment being it’s my team too.
Excellent for Kavanagh on Man C v Liv excellent appointment, and
nice to see the 2 Smiths on games too …. A nice even spread.

Very pleased to see Sam Barrott on Arsenal v Man Utd. As many
previous posters have said, his natural talent as a referee is
undeniable and he seems destined for that FIFA badge very soon.
The only way he can improve now is take control of these games
in the near future. I hope it goes well for him, especially
having watched him a lot over the past 2/3 seasons (as it seems
his meteoric rise to the Prem has coincided with Ipswich’s back
to back promotions).
Kavanagh with the massive tie at Anfield on Sunday which is good
for him. Personally, I don’t believe he has been as good as last
season so far but has proven he is a capable pair of hands for a
fixture of this magnitude.
Big games for Pawson and Salisbury in midweek with clashes near
the bottom of the table as well. Nice to J Smith and L Smith
back in the Prem as well. Good set of appointments all round
gillett has 4 var appointments as he has been injured
last 2 months roughly.oliver has had a few of his worst displays
while reffing /var of united games

Oliver with city for a fourth time already and not even
Christmas yet! Surely unprecedented? I know a few refs are
injured at the moment but that is quite frankly ridiculous

Decent spread, Pawson with what I think is his first trip to the
VAR room this season.

Very odd indeed, City still have a lot of big clashes remaining.
Going to be seeing a lot of Taylor on their big games from now I
would assume, he hasn't had them since first game of the season
(Chelsea v City)

Few comments saying the AR's on VAR duty as a mistake, I do not
belive this to be the case! HW had said they had been trialling
/ training assistants to perform VAR duties, so i'd imagine this
is them being thrown in to test! So Davies and Hopton as VAR's

the idea.they still have experienced vars in gillett and brooks
