John Brooks Man City v Tottenham

Although it seems to have gone without excess fuss for Mr Brooks
I have been a tad disappointed with the amount of clear dissent
both by word and action he has seemingly overlooked.
Two entirely blatant examples of slamming the ball into the
ground having been penalised and a number of "argumentative"
ripostes clearly aimed at Match Officials
I get that there is a higher bar at PL level but the ball
slamming particularly is so obvious
Not dealing with it doesn't help those officiating lower down
the pyramid

I would agree that a couple of actions of dissent did seem to go
unpunished (quite a few from Man City players) but that doesn’t
hinder his performance too much. Overall I thought he did pretty
well, kept the game under control and was pretty consistent with
his decision making.

His caution in the first 14 seconds was textbook, and showed the
new younger over manage refs how to approach a big game, by
dealing with the first bad tackle and it doesn’t matter if it’s
14 seconds in, showed strength there.
Let himself down w bit with not showing a few yellows for
dissent ! But we let him
Off today.
