In to what is a massive game at the top of L2, it goes to an
inexperienced referee in Stephen Parkinson. I actually give up
now. Crewe have been given 3 inexperienced, national league,
last season, refs in 3 games. That isn’t right. Are we the
Fulham of league two? It certainly looks that way considering we
had 4 last season.

Why isn't it right? Why do you give up?
You're League 2 Crewe Alexandra, not Galatasaray (although some
of your younger fans might be more suited to the Turkish club
going off my last visit to Gresty Road).

Crewe have had 3 newbies to the efl in the past 3 games. How is
that fair? James Durkin, John Mulligan and now Stephen
Parkinson. I’m a young fan myself here. I don’t know what the
away end is like, obviously, but I have heard a few complaints
about it. Crewe are looking to extend and improve it, as there
is land behind it that can be bought.

Accy Stanley have had 4 new refs in League Games so far this
season plus one last Saturday in the FA Cup and 2 in the EFL
Trophy. Get over it, you're not being singled out for this
treatment.

I have to say I was not impressed with Stephen Parkinson's
performance at Crewe Alex last season, far and away the worst of
the 'newbies' we had during the season. But please don't give up
on us Ryan, keep taking the vitamin tablets and say to yourself,
it couldn't get any worse at the Alex than last Saturday. I'm
glad I wasn't there.

An interesting Friday night South Yorkshire derby for Thomas
Kirk at Barnsley. Is it a TV game?

That’s not my point. Actually, 4 this season if you technically
include James Oldham in our EFL trophy game. What I’m trying to
say is that we’ve had 3 in a row, and 2 haven’t been impressive.
In what is a big game at the top of L2, does this newbie ref
need it now? It will either be a game where he will smash, or
loses the plot completely.

I saw Stephen Parkinson as a natural fan. The game was Newport v
Port Vale and he lost control and everything became a bit
random. He sent two Newport players off.
Maybe a Pick ‘n’ Mix referee - never know what you’ll get.
🤷‍♂️

I can understand your frustration but I think to understand this
you need to look at the league as a whole. Over the last couple
of League 2 seasons, the table has been so so close with teams
in 15th and 16th closer to the playoffs than relegation. By this
logic, it would seem that many league two games are ‘massive’.
Secondly, if you’re a National League referee, the next step up
is League one and two. Therefore, the only way you can get
promoted is either through merit on national league performance
or solid EFL performances. Given the current state of league
two, maybe it’s better for a ‘newbie’ to go in league one
despite there are some significantly bigger teams in there.
Elliot Bell seems to have had a lot of league one games but not
many league two. If I remember correctly, there seemed to be
positive feedback about Mr Bell’s performance on BBC at
Northampton so maybe he’s adapted better in league one.
This is all just my thoughts but I don’t believe it’s right to
question why just your team are getting EFL ‘newbies’. Did you
not have SG2 Anthony Backhouse a few weeks ago vs Gillingham?
I’m sure more experienced referees will come your way soon
