Robert Jones - Man Utd vs Chelsea

First 30 he started ok, looked up with play.
Then a very poor 6 minutes where by Caicado should have seen
yellow for a clear breaking up a promising attack foul, then
Colwell blocks off the keeper taking a quick kick from his
hands. 2 mandatories missed.
Then a poor non advantage where a foul on the edge of the box
presented a good chance for Utd and Jones blew so quick for the
foul then took an age to produce yellow for the foul.
Poor Jones !!

If you're referring to when Hojlund shot after James showed the
ball control of a Sunday league player, I disagree. It was
correct to stop play for the initial foul.

I honestly respect your opinions which your 100% entitled to but
I have to disagree entirely Jones has let the game flow played
some sublime advantages , and had full control so far
I’ve noticed you rarely praise referees , if indeed you praised
them now and again you would gain more respect , the number of
people that disagree with your posts recently would support my
comment on that

More poor posting imo which if you are allowed yours then I
will feel free to post.
Reading your posts I suspect you referee like a robot with no
understanding or feel for the game both of which the excellent
mr jones has shown in spades . It would be good if you
understand player management when posting rather than constant
criticism. But I won’t hold my breath.

I think that Martinez one was a case of learning from the
Fernandes error from a month ago and good decision making from
Salisbury and Jones.
I do think this one was worse than the Fernandes one but still
not VAR stuff.

The non-advantage situation was a mistake, and he was very lucky
that the keeper saved the shot otherwise Jones would have been
in a world of trouble. But that is all he got wrong, Colwill
didn't block the keeper off, Onana just ran into him. Colwill
was starting to run back towards his own goal, he doesn't have
to get out of the way of the keeper.

Ugarte lucky to stay on with several fouls after a caution. That
is how he plays and I suspect he will get plenty of reds in the
PL.
I cannot understand how Martinez is not a red. Knee high lunge
to stop a player who is away from him.
Penalty the right decision despite exaggeration by Hojlund.
Clear contact by the keeper.

For me I can't see any link between Fernandes and Martinez
decisions - other than both being incorrect.
To me the Martinez tackle is very clear SFP, studs raked into
the knee, maybe the force isn't that intense but the challenge
itself was very high. To me this is worthy of a VAR
intervention. But, alas, in the EPL, the mantra is to avoid red
cards at whenever at all possible and while this leads to
inconsistency, as long as the game stays "under control" and the
referee doesn't make a game changing decision - the PGMOL don't
seem to mind. I myself am unsure of the wisdom if this approach
but it seems to be the prevailing view. I suppose you will
always be more remembered for giving a red card than for missing
one, so, if self preservation is the idea, I guess this is the
way to go.

With the pgmol approach the teams that are sinned against are
the ones that play the team of the offender in the next couple
of games.
