One for the law buffs…Tamworth v Huddersfield - FA Cup

In what otherwise has been a dull live FA Cup First Round
tie…..Tamworth score a goal from a 32 yard throw in!
Before anyone says anything, it was touched by the goalkeeper
into the net from the throw, so it’s a legal goal given by match
referee Ben Speedie. The keeper claimed a foul and indeed
Huddersfield were unhappy at half time that the goal was
awarded, but I couldn’t see anything wrong at all. It’s a messy
own goal but a fair one.
Anything to liven up a dull first half!

Goalkeepers get so much protection and those appeals, not even
from the keeper himself, are very weak.
Championship keeper can't assert authority on a throw ...

Yes, a perfectly legal goal in my view. If the goalie had not
touched it, the goal would have been disallowed and a goal kick
awarded, assuming my knowledge of the laws is still up-to-date.
I wondered whether the ball had crossed the line before the GK
touched it, but camera shots seemed to confirm that it hadn't,
therefore a legal (own) goal. I didn't see the whole game but
Benjamin Speedie seemed to have a reasonable game from what I
       saw.

Speedie was very weak, allowed some dreadful tackles to go
unpunished he never looked in full control … was not impressed
