Evangelos Marinakis

He has been found guilty of spitting at officials and given a
five match stadium ban. This is far too lenient imo, and I
question whether he can be classified as a fit and proper
person. This really is a gross act and should have been stamped
on far more fully.

I should have added in the floor as officials walked past - but
still my comments apply.

Subject to appeal I believe! Frivolous to say the least.

Karma taking a hand here. After Nottingham Forest’s antics
towards the end of last season towards match officials, the
ludicrous appointment of Mark Clattenburg to do a hatchet job on
his former colleagues, and the questioning of integrity of
referees, a stand needed to be made here.
The owner’s alibi that he spat because he was coughing due to
smoking cut no ice with the match officials. It is a disgusting
act and the commission backed up the officials. Nottingham
Forest are lucky that no points are being deducted…..especially
also considering the match versus Brighton a few weeks ago.
A message needs to be sent to those who try to make an already
difficult job even more difficult with their ridiculous
posturing and insinuations. It’s a start, and I hope that the
owner downwards start to behave with more decorum in future.
Spitting is a disgusting habit which I deplore anyway, and at or
near match officials is inexcusable and indefensible.

He should be arrested for assault in my opinion, and if I were
the match official who was subject to this vile and loathsome
experience I’d have no hesitation in reporting him and letting
the criminal law take precedent over this meagre stadium ban.
With a criminal conviction on his record, this sends a far more
powerful message to all.
He should be locked up for this degrading behaviour.

Whilst I agree that 5 games may be light for spitting,
suggesting that fit and proper should be called into question is
way over the top in my opinion. That is really designed for
testing people before they buy a club, and it would take
offences of an extraordinary nature to ban them from owning the
club at a later date. Legally it would be very difficult to
enforce, I'm not even sure how stadium bans would stack up
legally for an owner, they are being banned from setting foot in
the bricks and mortar that they own.

A charmless individual unworthy of a club with a long and good
history.

Utterly vile.
Why does football have to put with people like this?
We don't need them.

I'm not sure it is. Thankfully FIFA, the Premier League and the
FA can't pass laws. Some, but not all, areas would be covered by
enclosed places and workplace law.
But it certainly breaches regulations.
