Leeds v Sheffield United - Lewis Smith

Top of the table clash for an up and coming referee and by and
large, Lewis Smith has done well. Calmly and efficiently in
charge of this derby, there were few debatable moments.
Good to see yellow cards for waving an imaginary card, delaying
the restart and dissent, mostly towards the end of the game.
This is a referee who is being looked at for potential SG1
membership in time and though his rookie Premier League
performances have been mixed, tonight he will be pleased with
his display, and one or two correspondents have noticed an
improvement in his control and management of games.
So well done to Lewis Smith, and more games like this will do
him no harm at all.

Really good performance by Lewis Smith in the Elland Road
cauldron. He is definitely on his way to the top. Well done

Personally I'd prefer to see him cautioning the player for his
obvious attempted deception rather than cautioning the player
pointing out his error.
