I think flipmode's team are the masters of that sort of offence.
Remind me again how many times Fernandinho and Rodri received a
YC for those types of foul. I think it was in part what Arteta
was referring to the other day from his time at City.

Sensible in the particular circumstances. Too much doubt about
the effects of the foot slipping, and also the fact that the VAR
did not get involved. A learning lesson in my view for a number
of people including those at United and PGMOL.

What does that say about VAR Bankes and what will his punishment
be?

Arguably an example of a manager Appeal / review? Like in
Australian Rugby League or American Football. Not that I would
want it.
The audio would be interesting. Did Kavanagh explain to VAR why
he thought it was a red and the reasoning behind it i.e. what
did he see? VAR could then intervene and say something like it
is not what you think it was or words to that effect? Rugby
Union referees do that but they do give themselves time to think
and go through it with their TMO official using a big screen.
Maybe CK was partly responsible in not communicating his
reasoning clearly to the TMO.

To me a prime example of why a referee needs to see the replays
for themselves. No one would criticise for changing mind once
all angles were seen
On Saturday in the rugby there was a collision that resulted in
head contact. TMO brought it to refs attention. Player had bent
to tackle, arms were in place, attacker dips/slips, head
contact.
Referee says defender could do no more than he did, no foul
play, accident, get on with it
All this with no loss of face to on field officials or the TMO.
Had the referee not been given the chance to watch it himself
there likely would have been an incorrect yellow or even red
card

Good to see the red card rescinded.. A very poor call from the
official and VAR..

I just hope this is shown on the Sky Sports show soon. Poor from
the AR, even poorer from VAR. :-X

But not poor from Kavanagh then? Seems you are blaming the AR
and VAR only

IIRC, the panel suggested that it was the AR that advocated red
and the implication was that the referee went with his decision.
Yes, the buck stops with Kavanagh but it is easy to see why the
AR and VAR get the flack. Watching the game, the AR waved his
flag quite vigorously suggesting something serious.

Listening to match officials micd up and it sounds so much worse
than I could have imagined.talk about incompetence.refs call but
it wasn’t the ref that made the decision.it was Richard
west.they acknowledge he slips but then says deliberate.
