C KAVANAGH - Man U v Spurs

Thoughts on the Fernandes red card? Didn’t see how bad the
challenge was until the replay.
Judged as SFP and a three match ban incoming?

I loathe Fernandes, so very happy to see him sent off... but I
have to say I thought it was very harsh and actually a little
suprised VAR didn't suggest an on-field review.
Fernandes is high, but actually all he did was trip him - it
wasn't excessive force IMO or studs up and that challenge is not
a danger to a player in anyway really. Also in mitigation,
Fernandes slips as he makes the challenge.
Surprised it was a red all things considered.

Poor call from Chris Kavanagh. No chance is that serious foul
play. He slips into the tackle as well.

I think he was the best ref early this year but a few have
passed him by now

Agree he slips into the challenge and feel slightly sorry for
him in that regard but dont see that as mitigation and not sure
the laws of the game allow for mitigation.

I don't see how that challenge ticks any of the boxes for SFP
regardless of the slip.

Standard reckless tackle. It doesn't meet the criteria for SFP.

Soon challenges like Nobby Styles, Norman Hunter and Chopper
Harris made will be allowed.
