Chris Kavanagh's 3rd Man United game as VAR out of 5 fixtures
seems excessive

I agree with this. There were some comments following his usage
of first names, seen during Mic'd up. PGMOL don't discourage
this but it's clear they're all too vastly over familiar at PL
level.

I believe the reason Taylor is not refereeing this weekend is
because of the online abuse he got after dishing out the most
yellow cards when he did bournemouth v Chelsea
we have had abuse to referees before in the past ranging from
graham poll to mark clattenburg to Phil dowd and also in rugby
with Wayne barnes why this keeps on happening I don't know as
its not meant to go as far as having death threats
so because Taylor has been removed this weekend the pgmol have
let the abusers win instead of letting Taylor ref this weekend
meaning pgmol back him as a top official

It could well be less about letting the abusers win and more
about protecting the safety, wellbeing and mental health of
Anthony Taylor, which is something I would very much support.

we are talking about a ref who is one of our best officials who
has been removed due to the abuse and what do the pgmol do?
remove him from the weekends fixtures which they should not have
done and supported him by giving him a prem game instead they
name him as a fourth official
I hope he gets back to refereeing a prem game asap-the abusers
should not win as somebody said on talksport

We don't know if he asked for a week off, he may well have
booked the weekend off ages ago for a family function or
something. He may well have just needed a break, after the
abuse, only he and the PGMOL know that and that is how it should
be. I don't think the PGMOL have done anything wrong myself. A
weekend off could very well be the support he wanted and needed.
I also hope he is back out on the pitch soon.

It's not really a weekend off when he's 4th official at 2
matches though, so I suspect it's probably to give him a low
profile this weekend.
