So Michael Oliver referees a critical Champions League play-off
match in Baku on Wednesday evening, takes a six hour flight
(across three time zones) back to the UK on Thursday and then
has a Premier League appointment on Saturday swiftly followed up
with a VAR stint the following day.
If we get any cases of SG referee "burnout", then schedules like
this will be part of the reason why.
And Chris Kavanagh is 4th Official in Baku and he also has a big
game on Saturday. Oliver often seems to have a London game
after being abroad, so in theory could have done Chelsea v
Palace on Sunday, couldn't he? I appreciate with several
referees injured, choices were limited but these two
appointments seem unfortunate to say the least.
Stuart Attwell as VAR is also in Baku and has Everton v
Bournemouth on Saturday, then travels to London for VAR on
Sunday.

I haven’t see any highlights or coverage of the Fulham game as
yet, but I’m not hearing any grumbles or complaints about the
officials this afternoon so I assume Lewis Smith faired
considerably better than his last game involving us.
I look forward to my fellow venerable Fulham correspondents
providing a more decisive opinion.

Looks like Ian Hussin has pulled his quad at Newcastle.
Darren Bond takes over the line.

Its quite a few seasons since Bond ran the line in the premier
league.

Surprised nobody has mentioned that Darren Bond replaced Ian
Hussin on the line at Newcastle.
