Jarred Gillett - Arsenal v Wolves

More one for Var than the ref as the incident not clear in real
time but how on earth was the Wolves player who pinned the
Arsenal player down by a hand to the throat not sent off?
Appalling to see that on a football pitch and even more so for
       it not to be sanctioned.

No idea but when I first saw it I thought it was nothing but
then looking at the replays yeah he should of walked for that,
Saka also rightly booked to although it cost me fantasy football
points for kicking the ball away although he was lucky to he
could of walked because of the penalty decision he claimed
although I don’t think it was a penalty and I don’t think he
dived I think he just slipped in cutting back inside, but aprt
from that I think Jarred had a good game and I hope he is on
more of our games in the future

I don't have a problem with Jarred missing it, the Wolves player
was probably obscuring his view. VAR has no excuse though. It's
not like it was a quick grab in temper, he literally grabbed him
pinned him to the floor and then half got up with his hand still
at his throat, before falling over, that's 6 months inside if
done out on the street. If that does not meet the criteria and
threshold for VAR intervention then that needs to have a major
rethink and fast because that was appalling. I hope he gets
charged retrospectively. Howard Webb needs to come out & explain
that one and for me there is no justification for no red card
and the subsequent 3 match ban.

I have to agree bmb. I would have thought this was way over the
       intervention line.
I wonder about VAR in the EPL. While far from perfect, broadly,
we all seem fairly happy with how VAR operates in UEFA
competitions. I know they have a wider pool of top officials to
choose from but I wonder if the PGMOL could learn something from
their training/procedures. Perhaps the continually changing
       intervention standards doesn’t help!

A bad miss from Tierney on VAR, I agree. The same player later
went on to inappropriately grab Jesus’ back side, who
understandably reacted and was (rightly) cautioned. Totally
unacceptable conduct and incredibly lucky to have escaped any
       punishment for either incident.
Not an overly difficult game for Gillett otherwise.

Jarred did very well one of the best referees in PL, he takes
       action and is decisive.
But sadly Me Tierney !!! What on earth ??? Webb said we get the
decisions right that jump off you on the page, this was one
clear one. Throat grab and pin has to equal - RED !!! Paul
tierney needs to be embarrassed by that non review call.

I'm not sure there was a clear view of where his hand was, it
looked slightly obscured from what I saw, maybe that is why VAR
       didn't intervene.

With the number of camera angles available to the VAR, I would
be very surprised astonished if a clear view of this act of
       violent conduct was available.
