Either two of them, or there's been a switch and it hasn't been
fully updated yet. Lets hope he / they knows football is played
with spherical balls and not egg-shaped balls

Ed Duckworth is supposed to be one of the upcoming referees had
a very poor game at Charlton
Decided yellow for what seemed an obvious straight red and
shying against a second yellow following a dangerous collision
       against the same player
Booked both managers for their fair frustrations too

Crewe Alexandra FC (First Team) v Chesterfield FC (First Team)
       Football League 2
       Referee: Tallis, Scott
       Assistant Referee: Husband, Christopher
       Assistant Referee: Ryder, Mark
       Fourth Official: Gray, Alex
Indeed I was at Crewe Alex this afternoon and I wish I hadn't
been. Not because of Scott Tallis who I thought was fine, with
yellow cards correctly administered and never lacking control or
fitness, but because of the home team, whose defence was
lamentable from beginning to end. When you get home fans leaving
after just 20 minutes, you know something is wrong, and the
ironic cheer which greeted the announcement of the 'Crewe man of
the match' (I thought it should have been the goalie who saved a
hatful of other Spirite chances) said it all. The way things
went this afternoon, we may be seeing Scott in action at Gresty
Road again next season, but it sure-as-sure won't be in L2.

Wasn’t impressed with some of the calls at Woking for both side
from Matthew Russell one shocking leg breaking challenge come
from 3 or 4 meaty fouls which he didn’t blow for

First off, it was Alex Gray as fourth official this week! You
can tell, ironically, by his grey hair!
My oh my, what happened today begs a question. And no, I’m not
talking about Mr Tallis, but Crewe Alex. It really was a
       laughable afternoon.
Scott Tallis was fine albeit didn’t have much to do. All yellow
cards (all to Chesterfield) were fine, although they will come
back to haunt them as they were needless cards when you’re 5-0
       up!
Next Saturday will be an interesting afternoon infront of the
cameras. Crewe (0-5 today) v Swindon (0-4 today)

Colchester United FC (First Team) v Milton Keynes Dons FC (First
       Team)
       Football League 2
       Referee: Miles, Jacob
       Assistant Referee: Da Costa, Anthony
       Assistant Referee: Brown, Stephen
       Fourth Official: Mingay, Bradley
After a couple of error-strung performances to start for us, a
nice and easy game for Jacob Miles to manage today. A couple of
minor mistakes, most of which went Colchester’s way. The most
notable of which was a failure to book Gordon for a clear
attempt to break up a counter attack and not booking Macey for
timewasting but nothing gamechanging. There was a KMI in the
first half where Jacob decided to book Tucker rather than send
him off for DOGSO but, without seeing it back, it looked the
right decision for me with a defender level with him. Happy days
for the officials and the home side!

Fair play to Ben Toner - 3 goals coming from advantages played.
If the rest of his performance was as good he will have
       impressed the watching eyes

Port Vale v Tranmere Rovers. The consensus amongst both sets of
fans was that Mr Oldham should have produced a red card, for a
last ditch tackle by the Vale last man on Omari Patrick, after
some kamikaze goalkeeping. While the defender looked to have won
some of the ball, the follow-through seems to take out the
Rovers forward, with the referee well-placed to see it. I wasn't
at the game, so unable to give a more general opinion of Mr
Oldham, but have seen this incident on match highlights.

I’ve seen the clip and I thought red. Mike Dean even publicly
posted an instagram story saying “Port vale v Tranmere, no red
card, unbelievable” (obvs with him being a Tranmere fan). Then,
Port Fail (sorry Vale) posted on their twitter “ Former Premier
League Referee Mike Dean coming for us on his instagram wasn’t
on our bingo card: Got the ball, Great tackle, We move on. Leave
us alone, Michael” with a picture of what Mike Dean said along
       with a picture of him.
