With the appointment of Stephen Harris, it seems that the ECB
and SA umpire exchange programme is continuing for another year.
Last year Lubabalo Gcuma came over to the UK and umpired some
games in the hundred, Russell Warren in turn umpired in the SA20
       earlier this year.

Nigel Llong was the TV umpire at Trent Bridge not Graham Lloyd.

Have to say what an absolute awful competition this is. Drab
dull cricket played in half empty stadia. The T20 blast should
have been enhanced not bashed to one side so the ECB could make
       millions in profit!

Spot on. The initial “razzmatazz” has died off a lot, both in
terms of players and the fanfare the comp came with. I only hope
the ECB are seeing what we’re all seeing and make the most of
the 18 counties that would thrive from the attention and
       finances.

The ECB cannot afford to let it fail and with the broadcasters
refusing to criticise the tournament other than making passing
remarks, we have a situation where it will continue providing
poor cricket. Now, some matches have been good with interesting
and indeed close finishes - Lancashire v Yorkshire (!) last
night was interesting. The pitches have at times been perhaps
too bowler friendly and I am not sure about the new ball they
are using but my main criticism is that I cannot relate to the
format or the teams. Welsh Fire for example?
No, I prefer the Blast but I am probably in the minority whose
views are overlooked as TV revenues become the dominant factor.
A revamped Blast was imho the way forward. However, there has
been some good cricket, excellent fielding, terrific catches and
funny moments as in Salt's run out last night!
