More or less faultless from Letexier. A fairly easy match but he
did all he had to. Hard luck to England and well done to Spain.

On the time issue - I largely agree with the complaints but !
       1) I am very suspicious about what referees are instructed about
timekeeping as it seems there are always issues
       2) I guess if they find 4 minutes to add from 45 they aren’t
going to find 2/3 from 4 (though I accept they sometimes do,
overall added time more the issue IMHO)
       3) Wasn’t there talk that the VAR and maybe FO judge the time
       added on at this tournament?
       4) I suppose both teams have the same amount of time regardless,
maybe England would’ve scored, maybe Spain would’ve or maybe
neither would have - we’ll never know!
I think this is something that needs to be tightened up but I
feel I can’t criticise this referee individually.

That performance was as good as what his Observer gave us 3
       years ago.

Very little to add. Two bad tackles in first half were both
yellows, but referees could be tempted/wrongly award reds. Maybe
a yellow for the challenge against Saka / Watkins yellow perhaps
       harsh.
4’ not enough given time lost, but all window dressing in the
       grand scheme of things.
Both teams played football, and the best team won the tournament
       (for a change!)

He must be absolutely delighted to have refereed the final in
such a competent manner without controversy.

Superb performance from team ref, Letexier and his team must be
very proud of their efforts tonight. Very good justified
       appointment by the hierarchy.
Spain were the best team on the night and throughout the
       tournament.
England need to have a much braver manager, one not frightened
to drop big names Like Sir Alf in 1966 if they are to win
anything. They need to avoid putting square pegs in round and
utilise a team pattern that suits their best players ie
       attacking football.
The tired excuse doesnt fit, look at all the players of other
nationalities that play in the premier league and also the
player who looked most unfit and tired played in the German top
       flight this season.

Thought he was superb. Sharp, on the ball, calm unshowy
authority, didn’t fall for anything, all cards correct.
Only issues were potential holding PK for Spain, but only saw
one replay - must’ve been close for VAR - but few complaints
even from Spain, so no major issues.
The time thing is irritating - I never understand how it’s made
to look so hard - if you signal a minimum of 4, you can’t
justify blowing up right on 4 if there are then the usual
delaying tactics / injuries / stoppages (or it encourages teams
to run down the clock). I think UEFA almost encourage the
countdown and to blow up (see it on the documentaries)
Other than that, an excellent performance. Ideal combination for
a final - 2 teams who get on with it in a very sporting manner,
ball ran well for him and he also referred the game very well.
       Bien fait, Monsieur!

I thought Team Ref were excellent last night BUT you cannot get
the timekeeping wrong in a major final like that at the yet. For
me that is a 1.5 point deduction to 7.5/10.
Yes there wasn’t a huge number of decisions to be made but a lot
of that can be attributed to decent man management too. The
occasion alone makes it an incredibly difficult match to
       officiate.

As many have said, timekeeping here was a real issue. 4 mins I
thought was lenient anyway, considering there were 3 goals and
numerous amount of stoppages. Then the fact that he blew on
exactly 94:00 made it even worse. Another 2 minutes was expected
by me because of Spain’s obvious delaying tactics (that he never
picked up on.) I feel like UEFA just aren’t allowing referees to
add the exact time on, like the FA do. In my opinion, they
should’ve kept the added time rule from the World Cup and bring
it into the euros. What’s the point in just having it for one
       tournament?
