Turpin - NED v TUR

Superb game from Turpin. On the ball throughout. Calm, full
control and all cards correct. Repeatedly correct in telling
players to get up when they tried to fake fouls. Good team
performance, as ARs had very good game too. Excellent game to
watch - England would have to play much better to give either a
good game …

A very decent performance from Turpin and Co.
Pity it rules him out of our SF. I am hoping for Marciniak but
fear we will get Vincic
Turpin may get 4th on Final is Spain bear France

Good solid performance from Turpin.
I guess the results of the quarter finals rule out three of the
referees who took control of them.
With tonights results i expect that Marciniak or Vincic will get
the Spain v France game with a German referee getting the
England v Netherlands game.
Reckon the final will be Orsato, but if he is struggling fitness
wise then Marciniak will get it and thus Vincic of the first
semi or the latter two swapping.
Am i right in thinking their is no 3rd place match in the euros
nowadays?

Commentator and pundit extremely complimentary about Turpin this
evening and rightly so; indeed I don't recall such bouquets ever
being offered to a referee before on such a scale. On his game,
as he was tonight, Turpin is excellent. He doesn't have an
imposing stature but my goodness he is authority personified.
Purely in the realm of speculation but I would have been very
interested to see how he handled the Spain Germany match last
night. Exceedingly well is my supposition.

say

The bloke who reffed it has, seemingly, received a number of
positive reports from those in authority.
As has the guy who did last evening's other game

In which case they both obviously refereed the game in the
manner that those in authority wish games to be refereed and
well done to them, however not all of us agree with the ideas of
those in authority.

Traditionally, but not necessarily these days. Proenca did
Euro12 after Portugal lost in semi (and with Spain in final, in
days when Portuguese refs didn’t really get Spain). Depending on
results, I think all retained refs are still technically in with
a shout. Vincic with no game after group stage is very odd -
presume he’s still there and in line for something …
