A handy first-half for Team Oliver. Not falling for some of the
       playacting.

Michael Oliver - Portugal vs France

So we've seen both English referees in action today and I must
say I much prefer the refereeing style of Michael's over
Anthony. His games are somehow more enjoyable to watch and his
superb foul detection is probably his best trait and up there
with the best in world football.
He also has really good rapport with the players, he very rarely
gets dissent because he's very good to deal with and I think the
       players like him.

Don't think any comparison of the two matches today is valid -
in one the players were ready to go out and kick the sh*t out of
each other to do what was necessary to win, in the other they've
just played football, and haven't required any disciplinary
action. Yet in both the referee has gone out and done his job
       well.

Taylor's match was far harder to referee in my view. Oliver has
a natural authority about him which results in an apparent
effortless excellence. Would Rossetti agree ? Who knows, I
cannot fathom his estimations of referees at all.

Think this is the kind of match where Oliver excels - both sides
       willing to play football

His player rapport is one of his best traits and he is using it
here with players he knows in the PL. UEFA don't want referees
to utilise this; instead going through the captain. Ironic
because most European officials can't player manage in any case,
as we've seen throughout this tournament.

Only watched from half time onwards but he has been flawless,
great call of no fouls and good advantages as well.
Proving why he deserved another match at euro 24

The best referee at the tournament in my view… and the best
referee should always get the final but I don’t think he will.
Might have a chance as fourth official maybe?
