Very strong first half from the Italian. Some great spots
(including not blowing up for free kicks that turned out to be
simulation), strong body language and he stood up to Ronaldo
brilliantly over the placement of a free kick, showing he won't
be messed around.
Think if he has a good second half then his name might be firmed
up for the final.

He has made some exceptionally brilliant decisions. And he
referees with an authority and empathy that the players have
respected.
He needs this not to go to extra time, though, from a fitness
perspective... really noticeable in the final 15 minutes.

Think it going to extra time was the worst thing that could have
happened to him! Hope he can keep it together, he's been great
so far

Reminds me very much of Mark Clattenburg’s penalty in 2016 UCL
final. Not wrong, but most view as soft - if not given will
equally cause controversy.
Much like for Clattenburg, perhaps the penalty being missed is
the perfect solution - draws least attention possible.
Whatever people say about Rosetti bias etc. Orsato is worthy of
a final based on this, I hope he keeps it up. A really special
referee.
