Why have we not seen a still of the possible offside? Looked
like Armstrong ran too early to me.
Because they would only check the offside if they were going to
recommend a review for the penalty.

No penalty for me as Armstrong clearly pulls the Hungary
defender by the jersey before anything else.

Listened to the post game on BBC Radio Scotland - and Steve
Clarke’s comments were an absolute disgrace:
“What’s the point in having a conversation with the referee?
He’s Argentinian. Why is he refereeing at the Euros?”
"I don't understand why he is here and not in his own country
refereeing the game.“

Yet another attempt to 'con' a penalty when he should have been
trying to beat the defender and get a shot in. He pulled the
defender over and it was well spotted by the referee and no VAR
invovlement was necessary.
I am sick of players falling over as soon as someone breathes on
them. Modern football throughout the world is now more intent in
trying to con decisions rather than going out and winning games.
Scotland did not have one shot in the first 46 minutes and only
managed 5 attempts with none on target in 113 minutes in a 'must
win' game. I feel really sorry for their fans after watching
that display.
Surely they only played for 90 minutes not 113 minutes. ;D

What on earth is his argument - Argentinians don’t know much
about football? Just bizzare.
Frankly, there is a word for judging someone based on their
nationality which perhaps I’ll get in trouble if I direct at Mr.
Clarke so I’ll just say I think it’s a deeply inappropriate
comment. I hope it was a case of ‘heat of the moment’ stuff and
in the cold light of day he will issue a full and frank apology.

Sometimes a referee has to make a decision which is a 50:50 call
but which has a significant influence on the match. Something
you hope doesn't happen on your watch. Anthony Taylor had a
similar call to make in his last game.
For me it is a football incident simply because the attacker,
who may have been offside, initiated the contact with a firm arm
across the defender who was moving quickly. Alan Shearer didn't
address that issue in his assessment of the incident.
Consequently, the whole incident becomes messy, and once the on
field decision is made, it fails the clear and obvious test.
I would like UEFA to explain these decisions post match although
whether it should be immediately after or post tournament I do
not know.
My reason for posting now is to condemn Mr. Clarke's comments
and I would also like to see SFA disassociate themselves from
them. Anything other than that would be to condone the comments.
We understand the post match frustrations and anger but also we
should expect an apology when emotions get out of control.

Embarrassing but not surprising that he’s trying to deflect the
blame given the way he set his team up.

I can understand his disappointment after losing and have some
sympathy for managers who are expected to remain calm and
rational immediately after games. He should consider that the
Hungarian goalkeeper had almost nothing to do all evening.
Perhaps he’ll reflect and apologise. Maybe Scottish supporters
will also now stop celebrating Diego Maradona and wearing
Argentinian shirts 😁
I didn’t think it was a penalty. The Scottish player clearly
grabs the Hungarian’s shirt and pulls him towards him which
causes them both to go to ground.

Outrageous and no doubt a (meaningless) fine will ensue. Again,
I’d be thrilled to see Rossetti firmly condemn the remarks and
publicly back his officials … and for good measure explain the
referee exchange etc so people can be better informed.
