Jarred Gillett has had a really strong second half of the
season, and has put a diffident first half of it in the past
where it belongs.
The reason he was given this play off game is because of his
strong performances since the turn of the year and from the look
of it, he lived up to that billing tonight.
I will also add he is a better on field referee than a VAR, but
that equally applies to a lot of his erstwhile colleagues. As
I’ve mentioned before, I like Gillett’s on field style, in quiet
but firm control, a fine decision maker and has a good rapport
with the players from what I’ve seen.
He also is very highly rated by the powers that be and rightly
so, one of my top six referees this season.

A top class performance from Gillett. Only tiny criticism was
not punishing Gray’s waving of an imaginary card. Definitely one
of SG1’s top referees.

Superb performance by Gillett and his team.
Is that the first time a referee has had to replace his shaving
foam?
Perhaps the grass wasnt as smooth as it looked.
Great end to the season for Gillett and i echo umpireian49
comments.

Was he maybe a bit unlucky not to get the play-off final? Who do
we think might get it?

I didn't watch, but glad that others share my high opinion of
him and his attributes which IMHO make him one of our top
referees at present

A top class performance. Could I also praise commentator Andy
Hinchcliffe for pointing out on a number of occasions how good
he was, especially when he noted the hard physical work he had
put in to be in the perfect position to issue a caution for
simulation after a quick break. More of this from pundits would
do a lot to aid the understanding the difficulty of refereeing.

At the game. Very good performance by Jarred, let the game flow
and wasn't conned by diving. Best at Elland Road this season.
Possibly one more yellow for a Norwich player. Video should be
shown to all SG2 and some SG1's on how to referee a very
important game.
