player getting subbed off, especially a star player who will be
playing in a title decider next weekend. It shouldn’t go into
making the decision but it does and I don’t blame Paul for that
at all. I would have had a lot of respect for him if he did
though, Saka was asking for it when he came on the pitch
especially to delay the game. The sad reality of the modern game
is that, if he did issue a second yellow, Tierney would have got
a lot more aggro for correctly applying the laws than Saka would
have done for an idiotic action

Brave = Foolhardy. He would have been castigated along with a
torrent of complaints that the title was being decided by a
referee (and other nonsense hyperbole). No referee who values
his contract for next season would go near it.

You forgot to mention that just one chap armed with a bucket and
magic sponge mastered the feat which can now take an army to put
right.

Apparently in the MLS a player who has received on-field
treatment now has to wait for 2 minutes before being allowed
back on.

Luke warm, it had ice cubes in it when I played, you never
wanted to go down injured. They need to revert back to this as
it would stop a lot of todays players roling in agony for the
slightest touch from an opponent.

I totally agree with your sentiment, having played in the same
era, however, it they reverted to this system, the modern
players would still go down and when the ice cold water was
brought on they would request a second opinion and want the
water analysing in case of possible infection etc., just so they
could waste more time.
