I would rather it wasn’t Mr Taylor in the middle at Fulham as
disliked his one off minimal cards approach the last time he
refereed a City game.

why give a prem debut to donohue?theirs not many prem weeks left
as the season ends in 3/4 weeks pointless unless a likely trial
game to promotion next season perhaps alongside Barrott and
smith poss welch but another trial run is needed alongside
Allinson

I'd rather it wasn’t Mr Taylor in the middle at Fulham as
dislike his propensity to award soft penalties

With Liverpool out of the picture, surely Gillett could have had
a run out by the Thames? I also note Oliver is in London if they
needed a big hitter for this one. I'm just waiting for my
Twitter (sic) feed to fill up with 'how does a referee from
Manchester, take charge of a Man City match blah blah etc. etc'
especially if Jack Grealish et al, stumble getting off the team
bus and Taylor points to the spot.

Could well be a League One play off final line up?
Also, he must be at the top of the lists for the highest
performing official in SG2 and deserves a game.
If truth be told, it’s a virtual mid table dead rubber at one of
the less intimidating grounds in the top flight, so it’s perfect
for a no pressure PL experience for him.

The lack of intimidation can change very quickly with a splash
of yellow in front of bmb!

You've obviously been within a 2000 mile radius of Dean Court
when that has happened!
I remember a conversation over lunch pre-match one day with team
ref at the hotel, a few years ago now. There were storm warnings
(red for wind and yellow for rain) for that evening and over the
following 48 hours or so. One of the team, who had just met me
for the first time and was obviously not an avid reader of RTR
(shame on him!) was asking about the protocol if the storm
arrived early, playing conditions, would they stay overnight at
the hotel until the worst passed etc. Then at some point made a
comment about the warnings looked quite scary and was no-one
else worried - 2 of the team who know me well piped up with
"I've survived telling Gayle we're wearing yellow, nothing
scares me any more apart from the thought of ever having to do
that again" and "I dare you to tell Gayle we are wearing yellow
today then you'll really know what scary is!!" Both were
laughing, he sat there looking very perplexed! On the rare
occasions we see him, he always texts me a couple of days before
the game to tell me what colour shirt they are wearing,
accompanied by a very long and begging apology if it's going to
be the vile one!

I notice that tomorrow (Wednesday) night, Messrs. Bankes and
Gillett have had their VAR matches swapped. Just trying to think
of a reason why that would be necessary. Both Liverpool based so
no club clash etc. Any thoughts?
