That is a very harsh pen.havertz leaves his leg there to
initiate contact.I get the whole clear and obvious but I think
bankes should be telling coote to have another look.another var
error for me

Going down before the contact and dragging his foot into contact

That’s a deliberate dive. Havertz drags his leg in an unnatural
motion to instigate the contact.
Yet, as we will doubtless be told, the ref saw it and made his
subjective decision so VAR cannot overturn it. That’s all well
and good, except for the VAR doing exactly that last Saturday at
Villa Park. It is the inconsistency which frustrates fans so
much.

Textbook example of simulation, should be punished with a YC.
If only there was a system to overturn blatantly wrong calls...

Yep, I called dive as soon as I saw it and saw it was Havertz
who has a history of doing that. However, seeing the replay, it
was unlikely VAR overturns that once it's given.
Coupled with the fact that Ryan Christie could easily have been
sent off this half for SFP or 2YC and not the greatest 45 from
Coote so far...

I thought Coote was about to give free kick the other way for
simulation but travers should not come out like that, Havertz
has bought it but once given is never going to be overturned
Missed the Christie challenge in real time, must have been in
the toilet but having seen the replays how Coote has missed that
is poor, not even giving him a yellow but Bankes has to be
asking Coote to go to the monitor

Not sure whether Coote saw the foul and played advantage or
missed it altogether.
Whether there was excessive force is perhaps debatable but it
surely had to be a YC at the very least for that first
challenge. Poor if he missed it and just as poor if he saw it
and didn't go back to caution Christie.

Christie very lucky to not see at least a YC for the tackle on
Saka. Not one where VAR could intervene because it falls into
the orange category & clearly more importantly VAR didn't think
red. Having not had a YC there though he could and probably
should have had one around 30 mins in for persistent offending -
for me 3 fouls that would have justified it.
Nice to see David Coote allow a brief stop in play during the
minutes applause for Daniel Anjorin and to join in with the
applause himself. [emoji122]
Agree with the above comments on the penalty but once it had
been given it was never going to be overturned. Doesn't tick the
clear & obvious criteria.
Arsenal are a great team to watch it has to be said. The
upgraded version of AFCB in many ways. This I think is what we
are aspiring to be. Everyone but McPridz will be happy to know I
have found our defence - they're at the Emirates & have been
superb thus far!

I don’t think arsenal fans can complain about city getting
decisions for a while…
Thats a harsh foul but Saliba defo pulls billing..Bankes hiding
behind c&o again
