Re: FL Play-Offs 2024

I was at the game. I felt he was a little slow to deal with
Oxford's persistent team fouling in the first half and could
have done, or at least look like he was doing, more to combat
the time-wasting in the second half. There wasn't much he could
do about the constant falling over, possibly requiring treatment
injuries, although he did start to combat this by simply waving
the physio on without checking with the player first near the
end, but the length of time taken by the goalkeeper and over
throws was never addressed.
However the big decisions were spot on. Credit also to AR
Matthew Smith on the "no goal" ball over the line decision,
helped as he was by it coming from a corner meaning he was in
bound to be in the prefect position for the decision.
It was interesting to note that at the end of the match the
officials were surrounded by a phalanx of stewards and ushered
off the pitch very quickly without the opportunity for any
players to acknowledge them. There was no obvious threat to
them so presumably this is a standard procedure at play off
games to prevent any spectators who might be minded to invade
the pitch to get at them.

I agree with the above with regards to Andrew Kitchen - solid
last night and a really good looking first season at SG2 level.
As with Lewis Smith in the first game, I think he could have
been a bit firmer on a lot of Oxford’s attempts to kill the
match, lots of shirt pulls but he’d also have been criticised if
it was stop start.
I’ve seen most games so far and the officiating has been really
strong throughout so well done to the selected officials so far.
The only game that’s had some negative comments was Sunny Gill’s
game at Crewe but I didn’t see much of that one - the comments
do ring true for other times i’ve seen Sunny, though.

I have seen a few, slept through one, but the standard of
refereeing has been really good. I have read that refereeing at
this level is poor but on this evidence the talent bank is
there. I hope they progress and are not held back.

I imagine there will be a number of bleary eyes and sore heads
among our Crewe contingent and, having not seen the game, I will
wait on performance notes from last night for Scott Oldham.
Hopefully he did better than Sunny Singh Gill at the Alex.

My sore head comes from a Crewe fan accidentally elbowing me
during the celebrations but I’m ok. Onto the game.
Scott Oldham was way better than Sunny. Honestly, I’d have a
referee like Scott every week. Didn’t buy for the stupidness of
both teams and let things go. Consistent in what he was giving
for both sides. Allowed two teams to play football which made
for a great game for a neutral (not for me!)
Based off this game, Crewe deserved to win. Doncaster didn’t
really have any obvious goal scoring chances and we did what we
needed! See you on the 19th May, Wembley!

Unless it’s SG2 with var experience? Barrott? Welch?
I don’t think it’ll be SG1 because it’s the premier league’s
final games that same day.

I think Barrott stands a good chance for a Play Off Final. my
predictions are
Championship John Brooks
League One Sam Barrott
League Two Rebecca Welch

I'll be at the League One final. I've not seen John Brooks in
action so can't give an opinion but i'd be happy with Barrott or
Welch. There are some officials that I certainly don't want to
see there so fingers crossed that you're somewhere near correct
with your prediction.

I have a feeling Sam Allison might get league 1 or 2 final to
with his trophy final appearance today if they arent appointing
sg1
