I was listening on the radio and Chris Waddle was going on and
on about how Forest should have had a penalty from a cross when
Ederson took out Boly. Watched the replay and Boly clatters
Ederson, while the City defender heads the ball clear.
Absolutely nothing in it, if anything a free kick to City (which
I think is what was given).

Supreme performance again here from Hooper, barely put a foot
wrong, kudos.

Simon Hooper had quite a torrid time when first introduced to
the ranks of SG1 and has matured into a fine referee at this
level. Sometimes people need to be afforded time to establish
themselves at a new higher level. Hooper doesn't have the
physical profile of the modern referee ( a factor which I have
always thought to be nonsense anyway because what counts is the
standard of officiating ). I hope he receives a major Cup Final
before very long, he certainly deserves to.

Ignoring what happened last week at Forest, I thought it was a
relatively easy game for him to referee and credit must also go
to both teams. I have said it before, Hooper looks as though he
is enjoying his refereeing and I am sure he will get what he
deserves before he bows out. A most competent performance.

He is a very good ref and is benefitting from having two very
good assistants as part of his usual team.
This team would be my choice now for the FA cup
