I wonder if Lewis Snith might get another PL game this season,
especially if there are dead rubbers on the last day.

Similar story to the above for Lewis Smith and team yesterday in
front of the cameras for Colchester vs Crewe. Not a particularly
eventful game for him to manage, but kept things ticking along
as needed with a few clear cautions. I was worried about his
inexperience with such a crucial match for both sides, but
credit to him, he looked fully confident and capable in the
middle. He seemed to take quite a hands off approach, not being
too firm with addressing timewasting or positions of the throw
in takers for example, but that style was fine for this
       particular game.
Any result in the end didn’t matter for either team and whilst I
thought Colchester deserved to come away with the win, maybe
that late Crewe equaliser will be a bit of a boost for the
playoffs. Best of luck to our Alex supporters over the next few
weeks and happy to see my U’s back for another season in the
       fourth tier!

I was in that away end and my god, I was checking my phone every
30 seconds to see the Barrow score. If they scored again and we
didn’t, we would’ve been out of the play offs! So it really was
a sigh of relief when we scored and I can even see myself on TV
       😂
Onto the game - Lewis was excellent imo. As you said, looked
confident and in control. He got every KMI correct albeit there
       wasn’t many!
Congratulations to Colchester on staying up. As I said to my
parents, Colchester are a club that I never hear trouble from
and are a family club with a good youth academy (I believe) like
us so for you to go down would’ve been very unfair.

Sounds good. I don't have Sky but a friend was saying that the
standards were awful and I'm not talking about Lewis and team
either. Maybe Sky should have gone to MKD v Sutton instead. I
don't think Donnies will be quaking in their boots at the
prospect of another visit to Gresty Road, but you never know.
Will Sky be there? I recall attending the last playoff
semi-final at Gresty Road when the referee was Michael Naylor. A
good referee and his loss to injury was a blow to refereeing. I
suspect we shall be seeing an SG2 on Monday week, but we shall
no doubt be finding out for sure in the next few days.

Accrington Stanley FC (First Team) v Tranmere Rovers FC (First
       Team)
       Referee: Woods, Martin
       Assistant Referee: Gray, Alex
       Assistant Referee: Stankovic, Ivan
       Fourth Official: Buckley, Karl
Mr Woods also seemed to be in holiday mood, as sadly did TRFC
and in general he managed the game well, with no issues in terms
       of fitness and positioning.
He did award Accrington two penalties and there are some doubts
to the merits of the first for handball. When seen from the
opposite end of the park, it was hard to tell, so assume the
referee, close to the penalty area, was better placed to judge.
After the game, some Accrington fans from behind the goal opined
that the ball had stuck Apter on the shoulder, so I've looked at
the footage. The ball is a point-blank header at Robbie Apter,
who had been facing away from it, but his arms were away from
his body while jumping and it's hard from the images to work out
exactly where contact was made. Mr Woods only got one look, so
while the award was harsh, don't think it could fairly be called
       wrong.
Rovers have lost all 3 games where Mr Woods has been in the
middle. All fair results and the officiating has been fine, but
as he's been a bit of an unlucky omen for us and football fans
       are superstitious.... :)

I believe Robert Madley went off injured in the Peterborough vs
Bolton match. I wonder if he will recover to regain his place
on the PL list as he seems to be injury prone since his return
       [/quote]
He did. He departed at half time although there had been no
obvious sign of an injury before that. Scott Tallis took over
and made a far better fist of a game that Mr Madley had
strangled the life out of with his constant whistling for the
slightest of contact. Mr Madley retreated to board duty for the
second so no emergency official was required from the crowd.
