2 more horrendous calls. Jones actually did well throughout the
game, it’s his VAR who have let him down quite badly here.
Never a handball in a million years, AWB’s arm is pretty much by
his side from close distance. From Jones angle it looked like
hand to ball, but had to be overturned.
Then the offside… if that’s offside I’m a Dutchman, we might as
well all go home and give up now. Football is ruined by the
       ineptitude of our VAR officials.

Having said that, I do think the rule that yellow cards get
wiped before the shootout is a mistake - it seems to make
goalkeepers feel like they have a 'free hit' and encourage them
to act up in the shootout.

It's nowhere near as good as that! Brian Rix and crew were
farcical, however, I find absolutely nothing to laugh at when it
       comes down to judging handball.
Football used to be such a simple game prior to 2019.

Feel desperately sorry for Coventry. Man Utd hardly celebrating,
too shame-faced perhaps. I have rarely seen players who have
just got to a FA Cup Final look so downbeat.
I hate seeing winning goals chalked off for being a millimetre
or so offside and I wonder if the technology ( and those using
it ) can be that accurate ? Wouldn't it be good if marginal
decisions favoured the attacking team. ( Cue for someone to give
an existentialist argument that offside is offside despite the
       margins )
The penalty for the Coventry third goal was a strict
interpretation of handball but not necessarily a wrong one.
I do think there should be tougher sanctions for goalkeepers who
engage in blatant unsporting behaviour in the penalty shoot out.
Repeat offenders should be dismissed and an outfield player act
as goalkeeper. A couple of instances of that happening would
       eradicate it overnight.
       I thought Jones did fine.

If this image circulating for the offside is genuine (and it
looks it) then the VAR is going to have some major questions.
I can’t add the photo due to size but it shows the line going
over the defender’s foot rather than being at the end of it…

No explanation needed from VAR at all. WHen I argued against the
introduction of VAR many years ago, I was told many, many times
that VAR is always correct and I am still being told the same.
The only thing which puzzles me is why do so many people argue
against something which is undoubtedly always right. I never
       argue with my missus.

"Shouldnt benefit of doubt go with the attacking team?" Asked
       Lee Dixon in commentary
       Answer, up until VAR, yes
Even in the "good ol' days" words like tight, close etc would be
used and the goal would stand.
However, we "believe" in technology and therefore have to
       "trust" the accuracy
When I was lining (under candle light and with a knotted hanky
on a stick) we were asked to ensure there was daylight between
attacker and defender as "level was on side"
Now we have length of toenails determining cup semi finals
To me AR was correct, unfortunately technology disagrees

Agree with your statement but when garnacho for man united has a
goal ruled out in very similar circumstances against Arsenal
earlier on in the season everyone said the technology had done
its job and should be trusted, but today we shouldn’t. Swings
       and roundabouts to me.
Jones was fine until the game stepped up to the edge. There was
a lot of age cynical challenges in United players that he played
some very good advantages for but never had a word with anyone
and seemed to let Coventry get away with them. He cautioned the
United keeper for timewasting for his second offence, he didn’t
even have a word with him to hurry him up, but didn’t replicate
it when the Coventry keeper was doing it in extra time.
As for the penalty. Not a penalty for me. The United number 29
has his arm by his side and makes no movement to the ball nor
makes himself bigger either: I’m not sure jones was even in a
position to give it. Cant believe the two penalty decisions this
weekend that one was given but the grealish one wasn’t
But as a referee myself I have absolutely no idea what I should
be penalising as handball now, it’s no surprise the PL refs
       don’t know
EDIT: I’m not sure where 6 mins came from at the end, but was
even more surprised to see 1 min at the end of each half of
extra time when there were 3 separate incidents that stopped the
       game

Please tell me you aren't being serious here? It is clearly
photoshopped, if the line was going over the foot it wouldn't be
raised off the ground so that it actually goes over the foot
       🤦‍♂️

I just watched it back on my TV. There is a clear bump in the
blue line as it goes over the end of Wan Bissaka’s foot. You
cannot see the end of Wan Bissaka’s boot but you can see the end
       of the attacker’s boot.
