Ivan Kruzliak : Lille vs Aston Villa

Sorry but a very very poor performance by Ivan , poor foul
detection , cards dished out like confetti no rapport with
players, didn’t give himself thinking time on certain decisions
h as no control in my opinion
To top it off Villa goalkeeper Martinez got booked early in the
game in the penalty shootout he got warned twice about inciting
the crowd then appeared to shush the crowd again with his finger
Kruzilak rushed over to him showed him the yellow card which
would have been his second no red card followed then seemed to
signal he had changed his mind about the yellow !!!

You've fallen into the same mistake as the commentators.
Cautions are cancelled before penalty shootouts, so the fact he
had been cautioned during the game was neither here nor there,
he only got one in the shootout and therefore that isn't a red
card.
Agree with you though that the referee was all over the place.
Lucy Ward summed it up best when she said that he gave himself
no thinking time, he went racing into every challenge with his
card already out.

Evidently yellow cards aren’t carried forward into the penalty
shootout according to Auntie….
I’m not familiar with that law of the game if I’m completely
honest. It would be a rule very rarely quoted and used.
11 yellows from Kruzliak too….
I’ve not seen any footage so can’t directly comment but the
general consensus on social media was chuntering phrases such as
hopeless, lost control and a disgrace.

Apologies I wasn’t aware of that rule about cautions being
cancelled out in penalty shootout's

It's in the LOTG guys
Law 10.3
Penalties (penalty shoot-out) are taken after the match has
ended and unless otherwise stated, the relevant Laws of the Game
apply. A player who has been sent off during the match is not
permitted to take part; warnings and cautions issued to players
and team officials during the match are not carried forward into
penalties (penalty shoot-out).

As i said in the appointments thread oh dear Kruzliak.
Kruzliak was quite poor throughout with his random foul
detection and couldnt wait to wave the card to match that of his
shirt and that of quite a few other officials tonight who are
gathered on missy bmbs naughty step, she must have upset someone
in uefa this week lol.
In fact that step looks more like driveway.

Going one step further Martinez got a yellow card in the first
leg and then received another in normal play tonight, if the
yellow card received in the penalty shoot out counts against him
is he suspended for the first leg of the semi final under the 3
yellow card rule?

Another example of the Law being an ass. A player can receive a
yellow card during the match and a second yellow card after the
game has ended, this would be a second yellow card and a red.
But there is an amnesty during a penalty shoot out? This means
that a player can commit an offence during a penalty shoot out
that is punished differently. Its a nonsense and a further
unnecessary complication of the Laws.
