Doesn't mean it is necessarily true though, over the years lots
of managers have made comments in press conferences that have
turned out to be not entirely true, or even downright incorrect.

And it doesn't mean it's not true. Firstly, Farke isn't the kind
of person who says stuff like this if untrue. And secondly I've
spoken to someone at the club in the last hour who has confirmed
this is true. That's good enough for me. Take it or leave it.

I send Mr bmb the occasional love letter! I assume a note left
on the fridge door with a list of DIY projects, or a shopping
list counts as a love letter!

on the fridge door with a list of DIY projects, or a shopping
list counts as a love letter!

Emails and texts are two of the greatest inventions in my
lifetime. It's a swift and efficient way of communicating. I
send and receive plenty. However I do also write letters, in a
certain context, because they have more of a permanence to them.
When I was going through my late mother's effects, I came across
some affectionate letters written by my father when they were
courting. It gave me a great insight into their relationship
which was certainly a case of opposites attracting. Also when I
went up to university, my father wrote to me a few times and
these letters remain very precious as he died during my second
term in the first year. So, don't let's consign all epistolary
communication to history.

I do still have about half a dozen friends/extended family who I
send a letter to every year at Christmas, inside their card.
Mostly based in Jamaica. They do the same back and I love
getting them and having a read about all the best bits to have
happened in the last year. Getting fewer and further between now
though as the older family members pass on and the younger ones
don't carry on the tradition. I am guilty myself of sending
digital cards to the majority & normally at the last minute
because I have forgotten again. As a kid I always had penpals in
various countries but I think even that is done via email these
days. Love the ease, speed and efficiency of text/email but it
always brings a smile to my face when a proper letter (not of
the bill type obviously!) lands on the doormat. My brother in
law is ex army and every time he had a deployment I'd be off
down the post office to stock up on blueys and I would write to
him every day without fail, he still has every single one of
them in a box in the loft, bundled by deployment. 20+ years
worth!

Speaking as a Postie, plenty of people still do, but they are a
dying art.
Letters take time and the content needs to be carefully
considered. Emails, texts, etc. can be pretty instant and are
not always the better for it.

In a roundabout way, I was meaning surely an organisation like
the FA/EFL/PGMOL/whoever would be dealing with digital
communication over such matters.
