John Brooks: BHA v Arsenal

Rare from Brooks, he's been very poor. Over 50 minutes in the
1st half he's managed to peeve off both sets of fans, players
and sidelines due to his random and delayed decision making. He
looks completely at sea sadly. As I said, this is a rarity as
whenever I've seen him he's always been excellent. Here's hope
he improves in the 2nd half because disappointingly it hasn't
been good so far.

Not his best half to say the least. Some very strange decisions
compounded by a soft penalty. Communication seems absent which
is annoying both sets of players.

I don’t think he’s been as bad as your making out but he isn’t
having his best game.got the big decision right though

Following the VAR atrocity at Chelsea last weekend, and poor
showing in the West Ham Tottenham derby in midweek, this so far
has somehow topped the lot for Brooks. Really poor showing..
1 or 2 incredibly soft free kicks for Arsenal early on which
stopped Brighton counter attacks, miffed by these.
The penalty Lamptey wins the ball and then fouls Jesus. We see
this every week go unpunished, yet once it was given was never
going to be overturned unfortunately. Contact was inevitable
after winning the ball, and it wasn’t reckless, dangerous etc.
in any way.
Arsenal free kick allowed to be taken 10 or so yards in front of
where it occurred, almost leading to a second goal. Then he
proceeds to give Brighton a few incredibly soft free kicks,
perhaps in the knowledge he has made mistakes against them in
the game that could severely cost them.
Isn’t letting anything go, a really bad week for Brooks.
Let’s hope it’s just a bad week and he can move on.

He's been doing his best David Coote impression thus far
unfortunately.

This maybe me with rose tinted glasses on but even with all the
replays shown for our penalty that were shown I still couldn’t
see where Lamptey touched the ball

Agreed, i thought penalty straight away and the replays I've
seen haven't made me change that view. Agreed Brooks looked
surprisingly erratic today. Maybe a week off to rest and get
back to his best that he has shown a lot this season

He’s the var at old Trafford tomorrow so he can have his rest
after that game and not during it hopefully!!

I think it's a clear penalty but inconsistent with other use of
var, he's played the ball and they've both entered the same
space, Lamptey maybe should have just kicked him in the chest
instead and they'd have called it a coming together no penalty

No way that's a penalty and the Doku one among others isn't.
Really fearing about consistency in this title race.
