8 minutes was daft, as you say I thought it would be 6 at most!

Fantastic game of football for the neutral and I think Jared
Gillett contributed very well to it. Both penalties absolutely
correct for me, and can't think of anything he got obviously
wrong.

That sounds like our Olympic games var official.
The amount of time players have to wait to take a penalty kick
is getting beyond a joke.
Thought Gillett did well considering the end to end nature of
the game and the pace it was played at, his fitness is
exceptional.
With the injury to Wan Bisaka and all the substitutions etc 8
mins stoppage time seemed correct.
Two good penalty decisions, wearing black as well to please a

These days the 4th official make a note of every stoppage that
needs the time to be added. If they put up 8 minutes they will
have absolute evidence to support 8 minutes.

Haven’t seen the game so can’t comment on the decisions, but one
thing I will say that since his arrival on these shores, Jarred
Gillett is one of the better decision makers amongst the elite
referees, in my opinion. He has the courage to make those
decisions without fear or favour and his match control is
generally good from what I’ve seen.
If you look at the fixtures since around the middle of January,
Gillett has featured as an on field referee most weeks, meaning
he is in form and the powers that be are trusting him with the
matches he’s given. Referees are like players, the in form ones
make it look easy, the out of form ones struggle. Were it ever
thus.
As I said, didn’t see the game, but it sounded a sensational
finish.

[/quote]ya probably but If they added every single stoppage in
some games you will have 15/20mins stoppage time😳

The second penalty was a strange incident I thought. At first,
as well as seeing Dalot's reaction, I assumed a clear cut
penalty. But then on watching the replay from one angle, I was
struggling to see the contact unless there was a delay before
the Chelsea player went down. So I could understand why VAR
took so long. In fact, I was beginning to think he might send
Gillett to the monitor.
Good game to watch though and I agree with those who said a
couple of United players were fortunate to escape a YC. As for
United's defending for Chelsea's winning goal, it was
appallingly inept.

Sounds like you agree with every single added time given. 8
minutes was a total nonsense, I have seen many games this year
have less for more stoppages and more time lost.

Dalot knew he clipped him, it’s why he didn’t complain at the
time. Just as for the first pen.
Dalot somehow avoided a yellow card in the game. No idea how.
Disappointed to see Antony get away with clear dissent in the
first half as well.

He must be sat thinking that involvement in a game like that
fully justifies moving across the world to ref. What a finish.
