Why is it strange?
Because the final is on Sunday and then he’s at Morecambe on
Tuesday. That’s already 5/6 hours travel plus resting. And if
the final goes to ET then that’ll take more out of his legs.
Perhaps 'strange' was an, erm, strange choice of word.
'Unnecessary' might be more apt.
Honestly don’t know what has happened. A few starting formation
troubles, injuries (4 to our midfield) and idk! We had plenty of
chances in the 2nd half of the FGR game but just couldn’t score.
You’ve got a bit of a buffer to the chasing pack and none of
them are red hot at the moment. I’d be very happy if you’re
locked in the playoffs and have nothing to play for on the last
day!

Robert Madley at Grimsby for the visit of Newport. Quite

I disagree, it is a strange appointment in the circumstances
correctly outlined by Ryan above
Slightly off topic but what in earth has gone wrong at Crewe
recently. They’ve gone completely off the boil and in a wretched
run of form.
It all went wrong when they shipped three goals in the last 20
minutes to lose 2-3 at home to Morecambe. That was also when
they offered a cut-price three match season ticket, presumably
to watch the 'promotion clincher' at home to Wrexham on 20th
April. OK, there may be promotion issues at stake that day but
it sure doesn't look as though it will involve Crewe!

The usual calm and assured performance from Tom Reeves at
Colchester - very minimal complaints. I find him to be such a
good game manager and never looks flustered at all. A few moans
from both sides and were quickly resolved by Tom with an
explanation and the player walked away happy, which to me
indicates exemplary communication.
Admittedly I don’t think it was too tricky of a game to manage,
correctly waved away a half penalty appeal from both sides (one
of which where he just stood with his hands behind his back,
almost bemused, which did make me laugh!). My only minor note
would be he was very picky about placement of free kicks and
throw ins at times and not others.Injury time was about right.
I do hope to see Tom tested at a higher level in the near
future, perhaps starting with a playoff game this season

Adam Herczeg - Accrington v Crewe
First off, y*llow was worn.
Overall, very happy. Sounds exactly like Tom Reeves at
Colchester. I can see why Adam has had a championship debut.
Thought he was very lenient on the added time - for the same
referee who gave 5 mins and 10 mins on the 15th August, today he
gave 1 min and 4 mins. Ok, 4 mins in the second half was
understandable however 1 min wasn’t. Our CB was down for that
time and it took ages for the balls to be given back as there
were no ball - collectors (quite strange!) Then again, it wasn’t
like anyone was going to score!!

Interesting afternoon for our referee for Tuesday, Ben Atkinson,
at Wimbledon yesterday. 10 yellows and sent off 2 players in
injury time for dissent. Fair to say Karl Robinson wasn’t best
pleased (shock!)

One of which came after he ignored or failed to notice a
defender leave his defensive position way before the kick was
taken to hack the ball clear whilst they were executing a short
free-kick.

A football-free evening for Team Joyce, Barrow v Bradford City
postponed due to a waterlogged pitch (BBC). I'm wondering
whether Morecambe v Crewe may follow, with atrocious wet weather
again today in the Region.
Edit - a bit of a problem perhaps with Barrow very much in the
mix for the play offs, if not promotion, and the end of the main
season in sight.
